The name Amrut Jeevan makes most Hindus believe it is a panacea. Because it does not stand for a specific product, but for a property. So it is not surprising that in North India you can also find anti-aging products, rasayanas and chyavanprash under the name Amrut Jeevan. Literally translated, Amrut Jeevan means honeydew of life. That sounds quite unspectacular to us Europeans. But anyone who is familiar with Hinduism can appreciate the meaning. Amrut is derived from Amrita, a divine nectar that plays a crucial role in Hindu mythology. Without it, God Rama would have lost the battle against the demon king Ravana. Amrut traditionally stands for an elixir of life. Against this background, it is not surprising that only products that are traditionally believed to have miraculous effects are called Amrut Jeevan. If you look at the ingredients of the Amrut Jeevan care ointment, you can easily understand why this name was chosen for this Ayurvedic skin cream. Ghee, amla, beeswax, turmeric and many other natural fruits and roots. The recipe sounds like a series of the best skin care products found in nature. The main ingredient, clarified butter (ghee), is known in almost every household in India and plays an outstanding role in Indian culture. It is said to have a nourishing and moisturizing effect on the skin. Younger women use ghee as a lip balm and, for a youthful glow, as a nutrient-rich, wrinkle-reducing face cream. Along with ghee, Amrut Jeevan mainly contains amla. In India, the older generation considers amla to be a jewel of nature. Indian grandmothers can't stop raving about the effect of amla on the skin. If you believe them, amla slows down the aging process, reduces age spots and protects the skin from external influences. In northern India, my wife picked up a few recipes as an insider tip that keep the skin young and beautiful. A face pack made of amla powder, honey and yoghurt was the simplest recipe. The neem contained in Amrut Jeevan is traditionally known primarily for its skin-protecting properties. Beeswax is not only known in India for its skin-care properties. The nourishing effect of beeswax was already known in ancient Egypt. Today, beeswax is often an ingredient in high-quality moisturizers and skin care gels. Beeswax forms a natural protective film on the skin that preserves the skin's moisture and protects it from external influences. Beeswax is particularly good for dry skin. In addition to these ingredients, Amrut Jeevan contains many other natural ingredients that are known for their skin-protecting and skin-nourishing effects. An outstanding care cream that has its name for a reason. But where there is light, there is also shadow. The consistency of the cream takes some getting used to for some people. The ghee makes Amrut Jeevan a very greasy, nourishing cream. The skin care cream should be left on the skin for a longer period of time in order to fully develop its nourishing effect. It is therefore often applied overnight. The high ghee content can mean that bed linen that comes into contact with the care cream takes on a slight smell of ghee after a while. It is therefore recommended to cover areas of skin that have been creamed with a cotton cloth overnight.
Application:
After cleansing, rub gently into the affected area of skin. Leave on overnight, but for at least two hours. For persistent problems, apply and cover with cotton cloth and use twice daily. For external use only.
