This crystal salt from Pakistan / Punjab Mountains has been deposited more than 500 million years ago, when the primordial oceans dried up. Today it is stored, protected from environmental influences, 300 to 600 meters deep under the earth.
The pink color is due to the minor iron content of the mineral. It consists of 97 to 99% sodium chloride. Unlike conventional table salt, crystal salt from Pakistan contains traces of other minerals and is untreated and without additives such as iodine.
